Brave 100km Team Walk

Over the late May Bank Holiday, Daniel Pollard, Realty’s MD, took part in an epic challenge to raise money for Alzheimer’s.  The challenge was to walk 100km non-stop from central London to Brighton.  Daniel joined other team members from Adiuvo (who provide Realty’s out of hours services) and Earl Kendrick (who assist Realty with major works projects).  The walk started at 9am on the Saturday morning in Richmond Park and finishing times for the group ranged from 26 to 28 and a half hours, crossing the line at lunch time on Sunday.  Daniel finished in a very respectable 598th place ahead of the majority of participants.

Colin Stokes of Adiuvo commented:

“We battled through the high temperatures, the rain, the electrical storms, ankle deep mud, overgrown narrow paths, insect bites, dehydration, heat exhaustion, too many styles and a heart breaking climb over the south Downs at around 90k”

The team tweeted:

“Most of us managed to hobble over the finish line with approximately 20 blisters or more between us.  It was a hell of a challenge but we kind of loved it.  Next on the list is the 106km Isle of Wight Challenge next year”

All together 2,000 adventurers Walked, Jogged, and Ran from capital to coast.  In it’s 7th year  – the London 2 Brighton Challenge has raised nearly £1 million for the fantastic charity partners.  Daniel’s team have raised £5,500 so far but the total is still rising.
