Realty have recently introduced a new apprenticeship scheme to our training programme this year to work alongside our current employee prospectus.

At Realty we place a great importance on employing the right staff and we invest considerably in our staff’s skillsets to allow them to developer further in confidence and knowledge with our fully funded training programmes.

We ensure that all of Realty’s property managers are given the opportunity to gain qualifications through IRPM (The Institute of Residential Property Management) & RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), with the remainder of staff funded for relevant qualifications for their roles with structured in-house and external training provided regularly from leading industry specialists, such as ARMA (Association of Residential Managing Agents), legal/accounting professionals, and more.

The new course added to the prospectus for 2020 is the “Housing and Property Management Apprenticeship – Level 3” which is provided by The Apprentice Academy and results in staff gaining a higher level qualification with the IRPM known as the AIRPM qualification & a Level 3 Certificate.

The course takes on average 12-18 months to complete, and is undertaken on the job with additional training and support visits provided by a personal coach whom has extensive industry knowledge and experience. The course allows staff to visit a number of valuable workshops relevant to their profession, and grants membership to CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing).

The course covers topics such as:

  • Leasehold, Landlord and Tenancy Law
  • Housing Regulation and Legislation
  • Special Provisions relating to Property Contracts
  • The Social and Physical Context of Estates
  • The Diversity of Communities
  • Delivering Efficient and Effective Asset Management Programmes
  • Organisational Policies & Planning
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making
  • Project Management & Collaborative Working
  • Continuous Improvement Techniques

One of Realty’s Property Managers, Siobhan Waldron, is the first staff member at Realty Management to undertake the course and comments:

“I have over 5 years’ experience within leasehold property management, and during this tenure I have gained insight and experience by working at multiple levels and disciplines within the industry. The extensive industry knowledge and information provided as part of this course has been amazing as opposed to the generic workshops I have attended in the past. The great thing about the course is that it is completely tailored and personalised for my role, allowing me to make practical usage of my new skills and knowledge in my day to day working life.

The most important element of this apprenticeship is generating a project that has company relevance and as such is a great opportunity to add value to the course, and create a learning path that ultimately benefits everyone in the company.”

We at Realty are delighted to support Siobhan and the team in their progression with the addition of this exciting, and new learning opportunity.
