Realty Sleep out overnight for Charity

Sleep Out for LandAid 2020 logo

In approximately two weeks’ time, two of Realty’s Directors from our Manchester office will be taking part in an unusual challenge to raise money for the Charity, Landaid, on the 27th February 2020 in London.

Landaid is a Property Industry charity that aims to put an end to youth homelessness in the UK. Every year, thousands of young people in the UK find themselves homeless, and Landaid brings the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

Throughout February, they are asking property professionals to brave one night sleeping outside to help prevent young people from facing the same prospect, every night. The sleep outs in Birmingham, Bristol and London won’t replicate the exact horror of sleeping rough, but it will give participants an idea of the harsh realities faced by many young people night after night.

Paul Morrish, Chief Executive, LandAid, said: “I am delighted that we are bringing our SleepOut series to multiple locations across the UK this time around. Last year’s event provided a truly impactful opportunity to raise money to help vulnerable young people across the UK. I hope to see as many of you as possible sleeping out for one night with all of us to help make changes to young people’s lives which will last a lifetime.”

For those who know the Realty participants personally, you will know this will be a difficult challenge, with current forecasts showing rain and snow! However this is a fantastic cause and we will look forward to braving the elements together through the night to raise money to support this fantastic charity!
